The legacy of Sara’s Pizza began in 1987 when the founder, John Agrusa, first opened the doors.

In 1997, ownership shifted to Rick and Phyllis, but the original trio stayed intact. Uncle John remained an essential part of Sara’s Pizza, paired with Rick and Phyllis’s children, and together the family successfully operated the business until 2025.

Today, a new chapter begins. In 2026, Rick and Phyllis’s eldest son (and the founder’s nephew), Mike Verstrate took the lead. Mike, his wife, Xhuljeta, and their children, Klea and Lucas, are now the proud third-generation owners.

As Sara’s Pizza prepares to celebrate 40 years of business in 2027, the new generation is overjoyed to honor their family tradition. Customers can expect the exact same beloved recipes, premium quality, and community, first passion that all started in 1987.
